Andrew and I get to see our house framed.
Here is our street... also the place of the proposal.
After we kicked the B team's ass (aka Mom and Jack) at tennis we went to the lot to play with the track hoe to dig some random holes. I caught onto the track hoe quicker than Andrew so anything that requires the use of heavy machinery in the new house I will need to be responsible for... I'm afraid this means I will be mowing the lawn, doing the laundry and the dishes. On second thought, Andrew was wayyyyy better than me! Good luck with the lawn, laundry and dishes sweetie!
OOOhhhhhhh look tall things coming out of the ground. But look harder there are also square things coming out of the ground (things is a very technical term it, for those who do not understand the terminology the "things" are footings, which are made of concrete... my favourite product).
From the backyard.
From above.
We came back this past weekend and the walls were up!
Of course Andrew had to get in there, so he crawled through a basement window and was walking in there... luckily neither of us had read the safety section in our building binder which says that we need hard hats, safety goggles, oh ya and to stay a minimum of 6 feet back from open excavation and not to go in the house if it doesn't have proper stairs and railings. I don't think windows count as proper stairs, but at least we have practiced basement fire escapes.
