And the roof is on

Here are some new pics of our house.

Here is our street sign (it isn't our house in the picture).

Here is the outside... the roof is almost all on.

Here is the inside (view from the kitchen).

View from the kitchen, looking at the backyard.

And the walls are up... the outside ones anyways

A lot of work has been done on the house since last week. The framers have started and the Tarific boys backfilled the foundation. The beginning of the framing.

Here the floor is half on.

The house is now backfilled and floor is now done. Grandma came with me this day to see the house, it was really cold but we lasted long enough outside to walk around on the floor.

The outside walls are now up and soon the garage walls will be up.

When we started looking at houses and building I decided what I really wanted was a huge front door. So I got what I wanted. Our front door will be about 3 and a half feet wide and 9 feet tall. Andrew can`t even touch the top of the door. Either this door is huge or the door on the right is minature.

This is the sunset view from our backyard for now anyways, until other houses get built behind us.

Before we go...

Andrew and I get to see our house framed.
Here is our street... also the place of the proposal.

This is our lot... not sure where it starts and ends, but it is here somewhere.

After we kicked the B team's ass (aka Mom and Jack) at tennis we went to the lot to play with the track hoe to dig some random holes. I caught onto the track hoe quicker than Andrew so anything that requires the use of heavy machinery in the new house I will need to be responsible for... I'm afraid this means I will be mowing the lawn, doing the laundry and the dishes. On second thought, Andrew was wayyyyy better than me! Good luck with the lawn, laundry and dishes sweetie!

OOOhhhhhhh look tall things coming out of the ground. But look harder there are also square things coming out of the ground (things is a very technical term it, for those who do not understand the terminology the "things" are footings, which are made of concrete... my favourite product).

From the backyard.

From above.

We came back this past weekend and the walls were up!

Of course Andrew had to get in there, so he crawled through a basement window and was walking in there... luckily neither of us had read the safety section in our building binder which says that we need hard hats, safety goggles, oh ya and to stay a minimum of 6 feet back from open excavation and not to go in the house if it doesn't have proper stairs and railings. I don't think windows count as proper stairs, but at least we have practiced basement fire escapes.
